A message from Aspire Bakeries:

Aspire Bakeries has made the difficult business decision to close the bakery in Burnaby effective July 23, 2022.

The decision is aligned with Aspire Bakeries’ growth strategy to maintain a streamlined portfolio of core frozen baked goods. The closure of the bakery will affect close to 190 experienced bakery associates from various departments.

Our bakery has operated in the same location on Lauren Street for over 50 years. And even though the name and ownership have changed over the years, from Gourmet Baker, to Aryzta, and most recently to Aspire Bakeries, many of our bakery associates have worked at this location for over 20 years.

In order to assist our valued employees in finding future job opportunities, over the next couple of months the HR team at Aspire Bakeries will be inviting potential employers to host Hiring Job Fairs at the bakery. A Hiring Job Fair will be a great opportunity for your company to showcase what you have to offer, but to also let our employees interview you and find out if you are a good fit for them.
