Over the past year, B.C. businesses - including the food and beverage industry - have been hit hard by Covid-19. In response to the pandemic, BCFB industry partners, and IT solution company, DTEC, created a nourishment campaign, an initiative created to give back to the community. As a part of this campaign, DTEC has kindly gifted 12 BC Food & Beverage, 1-year memberships, to new emerging BC food and beverage companies. From a vegan Korean kimchi company, gluten-free flour blend company, to a meal prep company – 12 BC food businesses were gifted a BCFB membership. We would like to sincerely thank DTEC for the ginormous generosity and we hope this sets an example to others to give back when possible!
One of the 12 companies gifted a BCFB membership was MotherLove, organic kombucha and water kefir company. They brew their fermented beverages using all organic ingredients, no artificial anything and a high probiotic count. Motherlove harnesses the flavours and colours from whole foods and combines them to bring you digestive health in a bottle. Their flavours taste light and refreshing, making it easier to take a step closer to a healthier diet. For the wellbeing of our planet, they use only refillable, reusable, or recyclable packaging.
In 5 years, Motherlove would like to have scaled up significantly to have distribution and sell to further markets, thus increasing sales. They are currently working on a shelf-stable product that they can export, as well as building a new manufacturing facility with a tasting room. Motherlove values sustainability and would like to give back with initiatives that help protect the planet. Ocean cleanups or any other relevant projects, that will help them take steps towards a greener environment, will defiantly be a part of their future!
