New Government Program to Strengthen Productivity in B.C.’s Food & Beverage Sector

April 9, 2026, Burnaby, BC – Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) has been selected to deliver the Processor Productivity Program (PPP) on behalf of the B.C. Government. This initiative is designed to help growth-ready processors implement meaningful operational improvements through structured Lean training and cost-shared funding.

 

The is a great strategic opportunity for B.C. food and beverage processors focused on improving productivity, strengthening profit margins, and enhancing competitiveness.

 

Program Overview

The PPP is delivered in two phases:
Phase 1 – Operational Improvement Foundation
  • Lean training tailored to food and beverage processing
  • Operational assessment
  • On-site improvement support
Phase 2 – Implementation Support (Upon Completion of Phase 1)
  • Cost-shared funding for approved productivity improvements

 

This program offers a structured, low-risk pathway to:
  • Increase product throughput and reduce waste
  • Improve labour and process efficiency
  • Strengthen cost control and operational discipline
  • Enhance overall business competitiveness in domestic and export markets

 

CME is one of the largest providers of Lean training in Canada, with proven expertise in both Lean methodologies and food processing operations. Program delivery is led by highly qualified experts with direct industry experience. This is not theoretical training. It is applied, results-oriented transformation designed to drive measurable performance improvements.
Funding support for the program is provided under the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, a federal–provincial–territorial initiative and by the B.C. Government through the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Seafood businesses are solely funded by the B.C. Government.
