As wildfires continue to impact communities across British Columbia, BC Food & Beverage extends our deepest concern and support to everyone affected.

Our thoughts are with the individuals, families and communities facing evacuation, uncertainty and loss, and with the firefighters, first responders, emergency personnel, volunteers and community organizations working tirelessly to keep people safe.

We also want to acknowledge the farmers, growers, ranchers, food and beverage producers, processors and businesses whose homes, operations, employees, livestock, crops and communities may be impacted.

BC’s food and beverage sector is deeply connected to the communities in which we live and work. When one part of our province is hurting, those impacts are felt throughout our entire food system.

To our members and others across the industry who are being affected, please know we are here to support you in any way we can. If you or your business have been impacted by the wildfires, please reach out to us. We are here to help however we can, whether that means connecting you with resources, government support, or others within our network who may be able to assist.

We also know that the impacts of wildfires do not end when the immediate emergency passes. Farms and businesses may face lost production, damaged infrastructure, transportation disruptions, staffing challenges and difficult months of rebuilding. BCFB will continue listening to our members and working with government and our partners to ensure the needs of BC’s food and beverage sector are understood as response and recovery efforts continue.

One of the greatest strengths of our industry has always been its sense of community. In difficult moments, we look out for one another.
